What does the WhatsApp Business API really cost?

Pick the country your customers are in and how many messages you send. This adds up Meta's own per-message fees and the WabaCRM platform fee — with no markup on Meta's rates and no per-agent charge, ever.

Your usage

Meta charges on the recipient's country.

High volume? Meta unlocks lower utility and authentication rates at scale. This uses Meta's list rates, so your real bill may be a little lower — never higher.

A typical reseller adds a markup to each of those messages and charges per agent on top. On WabaCRM both of those are zero.

Meta's per-message rates were read from Meta's published USD rate card on 24 September 2026 (effective 1 July 2026). Rates can change once a quarter and are charged on the recipient's country — confirm the current figure on Meta's page before you budget. This tool estimates the categories charged today (marketing, business-initiated utility and authentication); service messages and in-window utility templates become billable from 1 October 2026.

A worked example

Sending 10,000 marketing template messages to customers in India costs about $118 from Meta, at $0.0118 per message. WabaCRM's own fee for a 10,000-contact workspace is ₹960 a month — with ₹0 added to Meta's fees and ₹0 per agent. Replies your customers send you, and your replies inside the 24-hour window, are free.

Your WhatsApp bill has two halves

Meta's message fees

Charged per delivered template message, on the recipient's country and the message category. Billed by Meta to your own card, against your own WhatsApp Business Account. WabaCRM never touches this money and is not permitted to add to it — see Meta's rate card.

The WabaCRM platform fee

₹0 for your first 1,000 contacts, then ₹96 per 1,000 contacts a month. Every feature, unlimited team members, no setup fee. That is the entire WabaCRM side of the bill — see full pricing.

One thing this calculator leaves out on purpose: inbound leads are captured even past your contact allowance, so a free workspace can drift over its limit with no action from you — losing a real enquiry is worse than a small overage. And the AI assistant runs on optional credits, only if you use it.

Where the totals really differ

Meta's message fees are the same whoever you send through. What changes your total is the markup on those fees and the per-agent charge — each platform's own published prices, before tax and before Meta's fees.

Calculator FAQ

Cost questions

Two things, and this calculator adds them up. First, Meta charges you per message it delivers — the rate depends on the recipient's country and whether the message is marketing, utility or authentication. Meta bills that to your own card, against your own WhatsApp Business Account. Second, you need software to send and manage it: that is WabaCRM, free for your first 1,000 contacts and then ₹96 per 1,000 contacts per month, with unlimited team members. WabaCRM adds nothing on top of Meta's message fees.

No — and it could not. A Meta Tech Provider is not permitted to resell Meta's per-message fees, so you are billed by Meta directly at Meta's published rate. That is the single biggest difference between this calculator's total and what a typical reseller charges, where a per-message markup is added on top of Meta's rate.

Messages a customer sends you are always free. Your replies inside the 24-hour customer service window are free too. Right now, service messages are free, and utility templates sent in reply to a customer inside that window are free. From 1 October 2026, Meta begins charging for service messages (with a monthly free tier per number) and for in-window utility messages — this calculator estimates the categories that are charged today: marketing, business-initiated utility, and authentication.

Meta sets its rate on the recipient's country calling code, not on where your business is. Sending to Germany costs far more per marketing message than sending to India, for example. That is why the calculator asks which country your customers are in. Many countries share a regional "Rest of" rate; the selector maps each one for you.

They are read directly from Meta's own published USD rate card and were last checked on 24 September 2026 (Meta's figures effective 1 July 2026). Meta can change rates once a quarter, so treat the total as a close estimate and confirm the current numbers on Meta's rate card before you budget. The link is on this page.

No, never, at any size — unlimited team members on every plan including the free one. Most of the market caps the entry plan at about three users and charges roughly ₹750–₹2,199 per extra agent per month, which this calculator deliberately leaves out of the WabaCRM total because WabaCRM does not charge it.

Why this is safe to point your customer list at

Payments are processed by Razorpay on their own checkout — your card details are never entered on, or stored by, WabaCRM. Every inbound WhatsApp webhook is checked against its signature before it is trusted.

Tech Provider is a Meta platform access tier — not a partnership, a reseller agreement or an endorsement.
